Bromley suffered late heartbreak at Farnborough as they conceded a very soft 80th minute penalty to send them fourth from bottom when their performance deserved a point.
Farnborough started the game on top Daniel Bennett went very close twice as did Marcus Moody and Reece Connolly had a good free kick saved by Tommy Forecast.
After holding out against the early pressure Bromley came into things, Rory Hill had a shot saved by Tom Lovelock and Tutu Henriques has a header cleared off the line by Nathan Webb before The Ravens went in front on 32 minutes when Orlando Smith finished off a strong run with a sweet low finish.
The home side responded immediately with Bennett having a shot saved before they equalised on 38 minutes when Douglas Bergqvist headed home a corner to make it 1-1 at the break.
The second half saw Bromley go 4-4-2 and sub Ibra Sekajja had an immediate impact hitting the bar with a sweet lob following good work by Hakeem Araba and then hit the post after a good run.
Farnborough went on to have lots more possession and after a long spell they were awarded a very soft looking penalty for an apparent trip by Moses Swaibu. Connolly smashed home the spot kick to make it 2-1 on 80 minutes leaving a crestfallen Bromley unable to muster a response.
